Many people contact us wanting to learn magic and shamanism, and the first thing we always ask them is, “What is your aim or goal?” You see, the world of magic and shamanism is broad and deep – there is so much information out there that you can easily get lost and not even know it. At the same time, magic is a precision science, which means that if you want to become a skillful practitioner, you must be precise.

As you approach the study of these arts, one of the best things you can do for yourself is to define what you want to get out of it. Do you want to:

– Have more power and control over events in your life?
– Learn to heal yourself and others?
– Learn to work with Universal laws so you don’t have to struggle so hard in life?
– Learn some techniques to impress your friends?
– Master the powers and abilities you already have?

Whatever it is that you want from this study, get precise about it as soon as you can. Without an aim or goal, you’ll find yourself wandering aimlessly from technique to technique and teacher to teacher. Remember that there is a certain window of opportunity for learning once you step on this path. When that window closes, you’ll either have to work really hard to open it again or wait until another lifetime. Get clear now on what you want.

Once you are clear about what you want, check with any teacher whether their approach will get you to your goal. Ask specific questions about their approach and make sure you are willing to put yourself and your will under their guidance. Once you know what you want, the Universe will deliver ways and means for you to reach your goal. Knowing what you want is half the battle – and it’s the easier half! Good luck!
