Ritual Magic to Wash Your Cares Away

by on Sep.03, 2013, under Spells and Rituals

rainbowWe’ve all had occasion to let our old patterns, habits and beliefs get in the way of our spiritual growth or enjoying life, but did you know that ritual magic can help you let go of those old ways? When you find yourself stuck in negativity or holding on to old ideas and beliefs that no longer serve you, here’s one of the simple ritual magic tips you’ll find in our Kindle book, Learn How To Do Witchcraft Rituals And Spells With Your Bare Hands.

    How This Ritual Magic Works
First here’s a little bit about how and why this ritual works. The element of Water was used in tribal times for cleansing and a way to release the old and bring in the new. Tribal people would walk in the rain next to a source of running water (creek, river, etc..). The running water served to carry off old ideas and beliefs that no longer served, while the rain coming down from above brought clear, new ideas. The same is true today and this ritual magic can serve to also release negative feelings, stop negative thoughts, and get rid of low tones such as depression.

    Why This Ritual Magic Works
Magically, the element Water represents emotions, which are the language of Spirit. Moving water is able to carry the elements Air and Fire. The magical element Air represents thoughts and the magical element Fire represents will and action. So the Water element is able to carry off the unwanted thoughts and stuck patterns habits and beliefs. Walking in the rain by running water gives you the movement of the Water element to energetically cleanse out those unwanted feelings and thoughts. They can then be replaced with new ideas, thoughts and energy.

    Doing This Cleansing Ritual Magic
Here’s how to do this ritual:

    1. Pick a rainy day and find a place outdoors that is next to a source of running water such as a creek or river or even a spillway. If you don’t have a running water source you can access or are experiencing a drought and don’t have access to rain, you can use the shower as it provides fresh water from above and running water below.

    2. Walk next to or stand in the running water source and feel your old beliefs, negativity or problems being carried away by the flow of the water. Feel them being recycled into other forms some other place in the Universe, away from you.

    3. Feel the rain water coming from above and visualize its brightness and refreshment bringing new ideas, thoughts and feelings to you. You can also send up prayers to higher powers and beings telling them what you want to release and what you would like to bring in.

    4. Make sure you have running water, not standing water when you do this ritual magic. Standing water is stagnant unless it has been specifically programmed, so it doesn’t do the job of carrying negativity away from you. Standing water that has not been programmed (“charged”) can receive negative energy from you, but it requires a lot of effort on your part to push that energy into the water.

Yes, this magic ritual takes a little advanced planning to do since you will be getting wet, but the results are certainly worth any inconveniences. It’s not one you’ll want to do every day, but every so often taking some time to get out in nature, cleanse your energy and refresh yourself can go a long way to keeping you on your spiritual path and wash away mundane worries.

Magic Spells: Healing on a World Level

by on Aug.21, 2013, under Informative, Spells and Rituals

simulacra setupNo one can deny that there is a lot of healing that would be helpful in our current world situation in many areas and as magical practitioners, we know magic spells can help with this healing. People are often overwhelmed at all they see and feel needs changing in the world and wonder if magic spells can help and if so, then why aren’t we doing something to “fix” things. The simple answer to this is yes, magic spells can help and we are doing something about it. There are so many directions this could lead from political unrest, and war to planetary changes such as global warming to hunger and disease and the list goes on. With such a long list, we must prioritize however. It’s not like with real magic, we can just wave a magic wand and have everything change at once. Whereas we are sure there are others who practice magic that are also involved in world level magic spells, there is still a lot to do. We do feel an obligation to use our knowledge for a higher good, do pick out particular issues to work on and would like to share with you one of the projects our school founders have embarked on.

    Simulacra or VooDoo Magic
This is a World level spell created to clear all our oceans, seas, rivers, lakes and streams of pollution. It is ongoing and was created using simulacra magic. Some refer to this as Voodoo and you can learn more about it in our How To Do Voodoo ebook. Basically this type of magic involves using an object that is a likeness of something else, keying that object to what you want to have an effect upon or who you want to have an effect upon and then whatever you do to the simulacrum also affects the person or thing. According to the Law of Similarity, the greater the likeness between a simulacrum and that to which the simulacrum is keyed, the greater the psychic connection will be.

    Setting Up The Spell
For this particular spell, here is the simulacra that were set up. First a fountain in the shape of a clam shell was used. It is a bluish-gray color. Where the water flows out of the fountain is a pair of dolphins. The fountain was put through a 4 Element cleansing and it was keyed. It was then placed on a stand that has staggered tiers. On a lower tier, a globe of the Earth on a wooden base was placed (it too being subjected to a cleansing of course). All of this was then placed on a sun yellow colored square plate. The plate was keyed in the way that you would for a plate being used as the tool associated with the element Earth. Rounded glass-like pebbles collected on a beach were placed on an 18 by 2 inch stick which was placed East to West just under the globe. Those of you involved with magical practices will be aware of some of the planning that went into this setup in terms of colors used, materials used and symbols to bring in various elemental influences.

The next step involved filling a one ounce dropper bottle with bleach. This is was chosen because bleach prevents algae build up in the fountain. The liquid in the bottle was labeled as “Ocean, Sea, Lake, River, Stream Cleansing Agent”. The bottle was put on a plate (the tool for the Earth element) and the bottle keyed. Verses were written that included a set time for the spell to work, pulled and gathered energy from the Old Ones, the Winds, other beings in the Hierarchy and all those who care about the health and vitality of our waters.

Every day, the fountain is topped off with water and a dropper full of the cleansing solution simulacrum is added. This spell is ongoing and is granted an ambitious one. It is one of the many spells we have undertaken to help heal the planet. Presented here is of course an abbreviated version of all that was entailed in the designing and implementation of this spell just to give you an idea of how simulacra or VooDoo magic works. There are other steps from creating directors and limiters, checking things out with Tarot readings to consulting higher powers and revising spell verses, that also have to occur in the process. It is a lot of work, but one that we find rewarding and that we feel is important.

This is just one of the many projects we have undertaken as magical practitioners to help in healing the planet. Now it’s our turn to ask you, what are you doing?

    What is a Spell Really?

by on May.04, 2013, under Spells and Rituals

    Part I

So what the heck is a magick spell anyway? We get so many questions via email about magick spells that we thought it was time to set the story straight. People email us wanting magick spells for protection and healing, wiccan spells, magick spells for success, simple spells, complex spells and more. We can tell from these questions that there is a lot of confusion about what a spell really is, and what it can do. So, to set the record straight on magick spells…

Many people think that a magick spell is a set of highly charged or highly blessed words that will somehow change their entire lives. It’s true that spells have the ability to change many things in our lives, but words alone have little power. That’s not the power behind magick spells.

Simply stated, a magick spell is a formalized intention. We use our intention everyday – to show up for work, to complete a project, to exercise or even just to make breakfast in the morning. Because these tasks are familiar to us, we usually don’t take the time to formalize written spells for each of them. We really only need to use spells to formalize our intention when conditions are beyond our abilities to change on the mundane level.

For instance, if a situation in the government is beyond your ability to affect as a private citizen, a spell might be appropriate to use. A magick spell channels our own intentions in body, mind and spirit in a single direction, and draws on additional assistance from powers and beings that hold similar intentions. In a sense, one could say that a spell gathers the cumulative intentions of like-minded individuals, and via the path of least resistance applies these intentions to change situations.

Keep in mind, however, that to be effective a spell must be carefully planned and written for its specific purpose, taking into account all the factors and forces involved in the situation. A practitioner has to determine the type of obstacles to be overcome, the powers and beings involved, and the scope and type of spell that would be effective. Therefore, using generic spells that have been written by other people at other times can be quite dangerous, and is most likely breaking Rules of the Road, the rules that govern the practice of magic. We recommend always doing thorough tarot readings before attempting to use any spell. Don’t think that any combination of words alone will achieve extraordinary results. While spells do magnify our force, they require a large investment of attention and force to plan and launch.

    Part II

First, let’s dive into the different kinds of spells. While there are endless varieties of spells out there, three of the most common kinds of spells are:

    - Candle Spells (single and multiple)
    – Tarot Spells
    – Simulacra Spells (often known as voodoo)

All of these spells use some material object (candle, tarot cards or figurines) to channel and focus our intention (remember that a spell is a formalized intention). With candle spells, the practitioner usually carves symbols onto the candle, then paints or anoints the candle. The candle is then lit and one or more verses are said. The symbols and verses define the parameters of the spell, and the energy from the candle flame sends the practitioner’s intention out into the Universe, where it works to create the intended effect.

With Tarot spells, the Tarot cards represent the situation to be affected by the spell. The practitioner, following a formalized ritual, removes various cards from the Tarot reading and replaces them with other, more positive cards from the deck. The goal is to create the same change in the world as is created in the Tarot reading. These spells work by the law of “as above, so below.” As it happens in the Tarot reading, so it happens in the outside world.

With Simulacra spells, objects are used to represent people, places and things. The practitioner creates a psychic link between the object and the person, place or thing. Direct manipulation or change is then done to the object, which in turn affects (via the psychic connection), the person, place or thing being represented. Much of voodoo magic is simulacra magic.

Now that we’ve reviewed three basic types of spells, let’s take a look at some popular ideas about spells. In Harry Potter, for instance, students of the Hogwarts School are constantly waving their wands and casting spells. How accurate is this? Not very. First, most of the spells are fire-related spells, which means they are energizing or transforming spells. Since the students are using wooden wands, fire spells would not be very effective. Sending fire energy down a wooden wand would cause the wand to explode or ignite. In real magical practice, the fire tool of choice is the Athame, or magical knife. Similarly, the water tool is the Chalice and the earth tool is the Plate or pantacle. Hogwarts students tend to use the same wand, regardless of whether the action of the spell has to do with air, fire, water or earth!

What about on the TV show Charmed, where three witch sisters make up spells on the fly or cast spells from the infamous Book of Shadows? How accurate is that picture? It depends. Most people can’t make up safe and effective spells on the fly – there are too many factors to consider and not enough time to consider them all. The safety and effectiveness of a spell is guaranteed by doing Tarot readings every step of the way. Tarot readings capture all the factors related to the situation, and demonstrate exactly how a spell will affect those factors. On smaller spells, you don’t need Tarot readings, but with the kind of “vanquishing” spells the sisters cast on the TV show, Tarot readings are definitely called for! On the other hand, their use of pre-written spells from the Book of Shadows is somewhat accurate. There are formalized and well-researched invocations will summon specific beings. If someone in your lineage has already done research or developed a working relationship with a particular set of beings or deities, those rituals can be re-used.

We hope you find this little primer on spellwork and magic useful and practical on your magical journey. It’s a big magical world out there – have fun!
